Welcome to the Voices for Bristol website
Voices for Bristol is a non-profit volunteer organization that engages the citizens of Bristol in shaping the Town's future by working in cooperation with Town officials. Voices for Bristol promotes civic engagement and community awareness by providing and creating opportunities for the Town’s residents to participate in events, forums and smaller task force groups that enhance and improve the quality of life in their town.
Join us on Tuesday, March 3, 2008, 6:30-9:00 PM, at the Colt Auditorium, for a special presentation on Bristol's new Comprehensive Plan.
The Comprehensive Plan -- a road map to our future!
There's a new optimism in the air with the inauguration of a new president. Along with our new President Barack Obama, comes a call for national volunteerism and community service. Here in Bristol, we too are embarking on a new, updated, vision for our future. For the past year, Diane Williamson, the Planning Board, and >60 volunteers (many members of Voices for Bristol), worked diligently, updating the Town's Comprehensive Plan and adding new ideas for sustainability, the environment and conservation. The resulting Plan is a renewed roadmap for Bristol's future -- our future.
Voices for Bristol invites you to learn more about what's in this new updated Plan and how you can make it into an action plan for you!
Voices for Bristol is pleased to have Diane Williamson, Director of Community Planning for Bristol, presenting highlights of the new Comprehensive Plan to the citizens of Bristol.
At the Voices for Bristol's Future forum in 2007, participants overwhelmingly agreed that the Comp Plan was an important part of the Town's future -- not just something taking up space on a shelf, but a working guide for its leaders and citizens. The best way to keep the Plan alive is to learn as much as possible about its contents and to be involved with its implementation.
We hope you can join us at this very important forum. What better way for you to find out how you can be a part of your Town as it follows the rest of the country through the next years of renewal and growth? There's no formal registration, but if you are planning to join us, please let us know by sending us an email.
Turn the Comprehensive Plan into an Action Plan See you on March 3!
At the 2007 Voices for Bristol's Future forum, the participants created a list of what they love about Bristol. We are happy to share it with you.
